Ingredients
- Ingredients for 10–12 servings:
- 2tbsps olive oil
- 1 quantity Bolognese sauce (see recipe)
- 500g fresh pasta sheets
- 1 quantity bechamel sauce (see recipe)
- A handful of grated parmesan
- 2 ladles of tomato sauce (see recipe)
- Ingredients for 4–6 servings:
- 1tbsp olive oil
- 1 smaller quantity bolognese sauce (see recipe)
- 175–200g fresh pasta sheets
- 1 smaller quantity bechamel sauce (see recipe)
- A handful of grated parmesan
- A few tbsp of tomato sauce (see recipe)
Method
- Take a deep baking dish. Oil it with a bit of olive oil to prevent the pasta from sticking.
- Place 2 of the pasta sheets, or enough to cover, on the bottom of the dish.
- Pour a layer of Bolognese sauce – 2 ladlefuls – and spread to cover. Be generous! Top tip – prepare the bolognese the day before as it will help the flavours to mature.
- Spoon the Bechamel onto the bolognese layer and distribute evenly.
- Continue to build up the layers – pasta, bolognese, Bechamel sauce and so on until you have the required depth for your dish.
- On the top layer, I like to use the bolognese sauce with a layer of tomato sauce for extra richness, the Bechamel and then top with Parmesan cheese.
- Pop in the oven for 25–35 minutes. Lasagne al forno!
