This chunky sauce packed with breadcrumbs and flavoured with onion, herbs and spices is a traditional condiment for Christmas dinner – though it needn’t be the sole preserve of the festive season. In fact, it’s great with fish and all sorts of poultry, from turkey to chicken.

PREPARATION
To cook on the hob:
To microwave:
- Blend contents of the pack with 300ml of cold milk in a saucepan.
- Bring to the boil, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
To microwave:
- Using a microwaveable container, blend the contents of the pack with 300ml of cold milk.
- Cover and heat for 4-5 minutes (650W), stirring at 1 minute intervals.
